The fabulous Jamon 100% Iberico acorn-fed ham is knife-carved slices from the rear extremity of the Iberian breed of pigs selected from birth. They spend the first stage of their life on the farm, feeding on natural cereals until they reach a weight between 40kg to 50kg. Then they enter the dehesas, where they enjoy an exquisite diet made up of this selection of cereals as well as grasses, tubers, roots and acorns, till they weigh around 90/100kg during early October. It's also when the montanera begins - so as the acorns fall and constitute, the pigs are fed exclusively until they reach an approximate weight of 180kg as an adult. The minimum curing period of the meat is 32 to 48 months.
- The meat has an elongated and stylized form with golden and fluid fat on the outside, whereas the inside is in the shade of ruby red and has a high percentage of oleic acid that helps maintain an adequate level of cholesterol in the blood, as well as being rich in proteins, vitamin B1, iron, zinc, magnesium, folic acid and vitamin E (excellent antioxidant)
