It is shaped and sized like a traditional tiny, unsliced "salami," and it is produced by roughly grinding premium hog flesh with black truffles, salt, pepper, and garlic. Before it is prepared for consumption, it is lastly hung to dry in a temperature-controlled facility for up to nine weeks.
