Alce Nero, the Italian organic cooperative, makes this apple puree in Italy from organic apples grown in Italian orchards. The recipe is organic apple puree with a touch of ascorbic acid to keep its pale golden colour, and nothing more. It is smooth and fresh-tasting, with the clean, gentle sweetness of cooked apple. Each 80g portion is a single serving: serve it from the spoon as a snack, stir it into plain yoghurt or porridge, or use it as a quick topping for pancakes or a slice of plain sponge. Supplied as a twin pack of two 80g glass jars, stored at ambient temperature; refrigerate once opened and use within 24 hours.
