Alce Nero, the Italian organic cooperative, makes this plum and apple puree in Italy from organic fruit grown in Italian orchards. Plum leads the recipe at 82%, with organic apple puree at 15%, a little rice starch for body and ascorbic acid to keep the colour fresh. The plum gives the puree a deep red-purple colour and a gently tart, fruity flavour, softened by the apple. Each 80g portion is a single serving: enjoy it as a snack from the spoon, stir it through plain yoghurt, or spoon it over porridge or semolina. Supplied as a twin pack of two 80g glass jars, stored at ambient temperature; refrigerate once opened and use within 24 hours.
